Geometric Precision and Elegance in White

This project highlights the transformation of a standard vaulted ceiling into the room’s architectural focal point. Through meticulous carpentry work, the interior structure was clad in wood paneling, creating a design of converging lines that draw the eye toward the center. The transition from raw wood to a flawless, bright white finish not only adds sophisticated texture but also maximizes the room’s natural light and sense of spaciousness. The result is a modern, clean, and high-end atmosphere that seamlessly blends traditional craftsmanship with contemporary interior design.

The Process

To achieve this level of detail and finish, the project was divided into the following key phases:

Base Paneling (Installation): Wood panels (shiplap or tongue-and-groove style) were meticulously measured, cut, and installed to precisely follow the pitch of each of the ceiling’s four slopes.
Trim Work: To ensure seamless joints where the ceiling angles converge, custom wood trim was installed. This conceals expansion gaps and creates clean, sharply defined geometric lines.
Center Box and Electrical Prep: A flat, level centerpiece was constructed at the convergence point of all the lines. This was specifically designed to support the weight and house the wiring for the main chandelier.
Surface Preparation: Prior to painting, the wood underwent a rigorous process of filling nail holes and comprehensive sanding to ensure a perfectly smooth surface, as seen in the initial stages.
Finishing and Painting: High-quality primer and white paint (in a satin or semi-gloss finish) were applied. This seals the wood, accentuates the depth of the paneling lines, and beautifully reflects both natural and artificial light within the room.
Lighting Installation: As a final touch, an elegant spherical chandelier was installed in the center, complemented by recessed lighting along the perimeter to provide perfect ambient illumination.
